• If you do any kind of journalism eg. via a podcast, blog or social media, you'll need to know the rules of broadcasting from media law to writing copy, presenting, recording, editing, storytelling, structure, sound design etc.

​I’m an established diversity practitioner with extensive experience in broadcast journalism, programme production, new audience development.

​

To share diversity and inclusion best practice I offer a range of 1 hour to 1 day courses covering:   

• Why you need to understand the nuances of racism.

• Explicit, Covert & Unconscious Bias

• Being Woke

• Institutional Racism

• How to discuss race

• Being Anti-Racist

• All Lives Matter

• Raise awareness of the consequences of discrimination for the perpetrator and victim.

My Lecturers: 

• As Associate Lecturer at Goldsmith College, University of London I lecture in Radio and Podcast Journalism to both BA & Masters degree students.

​

• During the pandemic I re wrote and implemented a new ways of working with  students via a face to face online learning.

​

• I cover skills including: researching, writing, presenting, reporting live and pre recording,  interviewing, editing, producing, package making,  studio self operating a news bulletin and news programme.

After Media Training

• If you've undergone my Media Training, I can act as your Agent to field interview requests.

Judge

I am often called upon to assess broadcast industry Journalism standards. Most recently:

​

• I am on the judging panel of the ARIAS (Audio & Radio Industry Awards) 2022, which is UK radio and podcasts version of the Oscars. I was one of the judges for the Best Breaking News.

​

• Last year I was on the judging panel of the Audio Production Awards for Best Factual Producer.​

​

External Examiner

• I was  External Examiner for the Masters in Radio/Audio Journalism (BJTC accredited, Industry-like production News Day module), Degree course at Goldsmiths’ College, University of London for three years.
